Jake Vollmer was born and raised in a small town in Connecticut. He graduated from Emerson College with a BA in Media Production and a minor in Business.

While at Emerson he focused on design during his last two years, culminating with a BFA thesis project, for which he won best narrative production design at the 34th EVVY Awards.

​

After graduating Emerson he moved to LA and worked in a variety of Art Department jobs in commercials and film before he began attending the AFI Conservatory.

At AFI he continued his study of production design, learning illustrating, graphic design, and drafting.

 

Jake graduated in June 2019 and was accepted to the ADG Production Design Initiative. After working as an Art PA in shows ranging from small TV Shows to big budget features got his first union assistant art director job on the LA unit of Barbie.

He now works as an Assistant Art Director and Set Designer when he is not at home with his wonderful soon-to-be wife and their mischievous cats.
